Small and galley kitchen remodels in Austin

Small kitchens are where good design pays off most. A smart layout, full-height storage and real lighting can make a narrow galley work better than a big kitchen with a poor plan. We show you yours in 3D before anything comes out.

What works in small Austin kitchens

  • Go to the ceiling: uppers to the ceiling add a full shelf of storage.
  • Drawers over doors: deep base drawers make every inch reachable.
  • Right-size appliances: a 24-inch dishwasher, a counter-depth fridge, a 30-inch range instead of a 36-inch one.
  • One continuous counter run where possible, and a corner that is not a dead zone.
  • Light it properly: under-cabinet LEDs plus recessed lights, so you are not cooking in your own shadow.
  • Open one side, such as a galley to the dining room, only where structure and budget allow. That needs a permit and sometimes a beam.

An honest budget conversation

About $10,000 usually covers paint, hardware, lighting and perhaps a faucet. That is a refresh, not a remodel.

Our published full kitchen remodel ranges start at $45k–$70k for a same-layout kitchen. If your budget fits a refresh better than a full remodel, we will tell you on the first call.

Straight answers

Questions we hear about this.

Straight answers to what Austin homeowners ask before a kitchen project.

Can a galley kitchen have an island?

Usually not. A peninsula or a narrow table often works better. We check the 42-inch walkway rule before suggesting either.

Do condo kitchen remodels need HOA approval?

Often, yes. We work within your HOA rules and pull any building permits the work needs.

How long does a small kitchen remodel take?

Usually toward the shorter end of our 6–10 weeks kitchen build window, once materials are on hand.
